Why God Wants Us To Dream
When we think of great dreams, we think of the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. or the visions of Harriet Tubman. The beautiful thing is that we are all dreamers; we are all keepers of elaborate fantasy fighting to make their way into reality. God wants us to dream. Just look at the technology all around us; invention too started with a dream.
What dreaming says about God
Why wouldn’t we dream big if we truly trust God and believe that all things are possible with him? Just look at the Lord’s track record:
- Parting the Red Sea
- Raining down manna from heaven
- Keeping Daniel safe in the lion’s den
- Feeding the multitudes
- Walking on water
- Mary’s immaculate conception
The list goes on and on. So if we base our aspirations on what God has already done, it truly changes things.
A God-given dream
Dreaming is essential when it is rooted in God’s purpose for your life. A God-given dream is specifically suited for you. It can stretch your faith, sharpen your courage, and teach you to trust in the Lord.
Following a dream takes courage. Everything doesn’t always go as planned, and there can be a lot of opposition. Family and friends with good intentions may express what they think you should do with your life. Unfortunately, their advice, although sound, may not align with God’s plan. Be respectful of their opinion, but don’t let it become your reality.

In the end
God will help you overcome all your obstacles. Enjoy the journey. So many of us focus on reaching the goal that we fail to recognize valuable moments along the way.
